Mudo Korean Martial Arts: Top 3 Best in Gaston

Once again, Mudo Korean Martial Arts was a top 3 finalist for the Best of Gaston awards in the category of Best Karate / Martial Arts School. Although we did not win, we are extremely grateful for all the votes and support that we received that got us all the way to the finals. There are a lot of good martial arts schools in Gaston County and being in the top 3 is a huge honor. Thank you again for all your love and support!

Mudo KMA Triumphs at 2025 AAU Taekwondo Championship

Team Mudo KMA triumphs with a very successful showing at the 2025 AAU Taekwondo SC State Championship in Camden, SC. We had 14 athletes compete in poomsae, sparring, and weapons. They all performed well in the ring while also displaying good sportsmanship, respect, and discipline. We are extremely proud of each and every one of them!

Team Mudo KMA Competes in 2024 Body Armor State Games

Congratulations to all the Team Mudo KMA athletes that competed in the BODYARMOR State Games! We had three athletes compete in Forms and they all did an outstanding job, bringing home 1 Gold medal and 2 Bronze medals! We couldn’t be more proud of this group!

Jeontong Mugido and Hapkido Promotions in May 2024

In Jeontong Mugido, we had five students complete the introductory level course in Danbong and Dangeom. All five students passed their final exam and were awarded rank in Jeontong Mugido. Randall Miller, Angel Miller, Euan Cable, and Layson Brown were promoted to 5th Geup, Green Belt and Maverick Martinez was promoted to 6th Geup, Yellow Belt. Congratulations to all of the students on their hard work and achievements!

In Hapkido, we had one student test in May. Layson Brown passed her test and was promoted to 7th Geup, Green Belt in Euljikwan Hapkido. Congratulations Ms. Brown!

Finalist in the Best of Gaston Community Choice Awards 2024

Thank you to all of our students, parents, family, and friends who voted for us! We ended up as a finalist in the Top 3 for Best Martial Arts School in Gaston County! Although we did not win, being in this position after only 2 years in operation is a huge accomplishment and we owe this honor to all of you who voted for us. We are extremely grateful for all the support we have received and we will continue to work hard to make Mudo KMA the best place to train in Gastonia! Thank you all!

Bella, Our Mudo Mascot Passed Away

Bella “Bear” Rosser (10/16/2013 – 4/23/2024)

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bella, our Mudo mascot. Many of you know Bella from all the time she spent visiting the dojang and greeting students as they walked by the counter. Bella loved people and loved the attention she got from our students and parents. To our school, she was our mascot. To our family, she was a family member. She was a sweet, gentle, wonderful girl that meant the world to us. She will be deeply missed.
